The Ideal Executive, by Ichak Adizes

Dr. Adizes’ premise, developed in this book, is that the ideal leader, manager, or executive—ideal in the sense that he can fulfill by himself all the roles necessary for the long-and short-term effectiveness and efficiency of an organization—does not and cannot exist. And that is the problem with contemporary management literature: it presents what the executive should do, (because that is what the organization needs) even though no one can do it.

All the books and textbooks that try to teach us to be perfect managers, leaders, or executives are based on the erroneous assumption that such a goal is possible. This book explains why it is not. We are all barking up the wrong tree, spending millions of dollars to train and develop executives based on faulty logic.

This book is the first in a series of three. In this volume, Dr. Adizes presents a paradigm shift in management thinking: If no one can be the ideal executive that organizations need, what should be done to avoid mismanagement?

• How to compose a complementary team
• How to structure the company correctly
• How to harness conflict that necessarily will emerge within a team composed of diverse styles

This book is a must for all managers and leaders of industry or not-for-profit organizations. It is based on 30 years of successful application of principles presented in this book in 48 countries, in companies from start-ups to the largest on the earth.

“While early promotions in one’s career are due to excellence in a professional discipline, promotions to key management positions hinge upon excellence in interpersonal skills. This book is the culmination of Dr. Adizes’ theoretical studies, vast experience and great intuition. It will help you understand and better deal with subordinates, peers, and specifically your supervisor.”

-—Sass Somekh, Executive Vice President of Applied Materials, Inc.

“Every management team is a unique slight mutation of the many others we know. With four basic characters; P, A, E, I, Dr Adizes succeeds in giving us the tools to create the ‘full DNA’ of the numerous management teams that exist out there. With a masterful writing, based on tens years of real life experience, Dr Adizes brings to life characters that are the archetypes of managers we all see around us. Then he takes it one step further by showing us how to fix the unhealthy components of any given mutation.”

—Dr Moshe Benbassat, Chairman and CEO of ClickSoftware Inc.

“Adizes provides help to everyone in his latest book no matter where you are in your life cycle. His wisdom is basic to being a successful manager, father, husband, and leader. There are no limited to what you can achieve if you can strengthen and overcome your own weaknesses through teamwork and improved communications. Adizes provides the insight to help you do it.”

—Charles D. Peebler, Jr., Plum I Managing Director and Plum II Director and Venture Partner.

excellent
By Petit Peteq
Excellent as for all Adizes work.

Adizes has a materialistic approach, dialectic. It's for sure a product of his socialist upbringing. His theories are very original, simple and practical.

I think his theories are excellent in the macro analysis but not in the field, in the applied management. In the small scope or applied management, I find them to be not so succesfull or easy to implement.

For example, PAEI code applied to people. The theory is excellent to understand, to predict, in the macro analysis, but not to manage, in the applied scope, for example, project management. It's not advisable at all to catalog people in any way and to administrate and lead them based in that. You should know your people and communicate effectively, but you must not catalog not even think about a sort of 'who's-who-type or code'.

Maybe I just need to read some more of him. This subject is for sure treated by others previously. I never find a good explanation to this problem in his theories.

Quite strucrured classification of the managers styles that matches to all Adizes's theory. There are not the only descriptions either there are plenty approaches and materials for analysis. But the only negative sensation left after you had read the book. It seems the four types are too few for being asured in precise and accurate evaluation of an every situation.

Life in the literary club has settled into a predictable - if unusual - routine. Junior member Konoha Inoue dutifully writes short stories for his club president, Tohko Amano, who subsequently shreds them and devours each morsel like the book-eating goblin she is. When the club begins receiving cryptic messages, though, routine goes out the window as Tohko sets out to find the culprit with Konoha in tow! When their investigation suggests that a tormented spirit might be stalking the school halls, matters quickly take an ominous turn. Is it possible that ghosts really exist, or is there something even more disturbing at play? But if there is room in the world for a literature-consuming goblin, then, really, how unlikely is a famished spirit?

It would seem, that in this world of literature driven by stories of love-stricken vampires and dead cheerleaders, that the very works of fiction that helped pave the road to our modern way of reading have slowly been fading into the background. Perhaps it's because of our faster paced world, but with each passing decade, these novels have continued to drift farther into obscurity, to a point where most only recognize them by name. For many, this fact has proven more than troubling.

So, how can someone encourage new interest in these old bestsellers many still consider to this day to be timeless? It's a question that has continued to plague a large number of readers and authors for quite some time. Though numerous attempts have been made, including adding Zombies to the plot, the books themselves have still not grown more popular and many have begun to fear for their future in the world of literature.

Enter author Mizuki Nomura.

Book Girl and the Famished Spirit is the second book in the newly released Book Girl novel series from Japan, being brought over and translated courtesy of Yen Press. Having sold over 1.6 million copies, the series has received a large amount of popularity, spawning a number of comics and a series of theatrical films. It has repeatedly been listed among the top 10 bestselling and most popular YA titles since 2007.

The story revolves around the narrator and protagonist Konoha Inoue, a high school student who wrote a bestselling novel in middle school under a female pen name but whose popularity and secrecy drove him to the edge causing him to never want to write again. Now, ironically, he finds himself in a book club run by Tohko Amano, a girl one year his senior. And what task does President Tohko demand of Konoha? To write short stories. Why? Because Tohko has a bit of a secret herself. She eats books, literally, and she loves handwritten ones the best.

But when the club mailbox begins to receive cryptic messages filled with torn up numbers, Tohko decides that the two of them will stay after school and catch the culprit. What they discover, however, could prove more than they bargained for. With lives quickly put on the line, and a mystery that seems eerily familiar, the two must discover the difference between what separates the dead from the living... and fast.

When I wrote my review of the first Book Girl novel, Book Girl and the Suicidal Mime, back in September, I noted its strong storytelling and gripping investigation into the state of the human soul. In that book, the story had been woven intimately with the Japanese classic No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai. The book was excellent.

For Famished Spirit, I wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be as good as the Suicidal Mime, or better?

In the second installment of the series, Nomura basis's the story on the English classic Wuthering Heights. And as is the case with Suicidal Mime, the plot and even characters are inseparably tied with the work of Emily Brontë.

Though initially slow, the plot soon glides forward rapidly, gripping the reader under its spell even more magnetically than it did in the last book. Nomura's writing style remains consistent and manages to flow well, thanks in no small part to the excellent work of those at Yen Press.

If there is one thing remarkably different about Famished Spirit that helps separate it from Suicidal Mime, it would be the subject matter. Because the story is based off a new work of classic literature, the focus has changed. Instead of exploring the deepest crevices of the soul, the book zeroes in on human relationships and the results of misunderstandings and hate. The conclusions of this investigation prove nothing short of shocking, and readers will be hard pressed to find the strength to put down this volume till reaching the end.

Having never read Wuthering Heights, I found myself growing more and more curious about it as I read on. Nomura does a superb job of weaving the story intricately with an older work while never in the least confusing readers who have no previous knowledge of Brontë. And here lies one of the greatest aspects of the book series: Nomura has succeeded in writing a series of novels that not only stand alone as great works of literature, but also manage to spark interest in the reader to seek out the classic works that inspired it.

But, of course, I know what the biggest question is on many readers' minds. How does Famished Spirit compare overall with Suicidal Mime? That's a complicated question to answer for several reasons. The first is that, on the whole, Famished Spirit proves more gripping and interesting throughout than Suicidal Mime. While the earlier volume is driven by intrigue and slowly built up to a climax, Famished Spirit rushes full steam ahead for a majority of the story. The second reason is that, unlike in Suicidal Mime, the payoff at the end of Famished Spirit is bittersweet. Opinions will vary, but as for myself, I found the ending less fulfilling than the ending of Suicidal Mime. However, as was the case with the first book, Famished Spirit is, regardless, thought provoking and emotionally powerful. So, probably the best way I could put it is that both novels in the Book Girl series outdo one another in specific ways, and each is the better for it.

Book Girl and the Famished Spirit represents a splendid sequel. As gripping, if not more so, than the original, Mizuki Nomura weaves a spellbinding tale of deception, misconception, and revenge. Readers familiar with or estranged from the work of Emily Brontë will equally find something to love within these pages. The future of literature is looking brighter with every page Tohko Amano swallows, and every new reader who is inspired to pick up a book they would have otherwise had no interest in.

"He would kill her."
By Xyon McKell
The stories in each volume of Book Girl are self-contained, fill the reader in on important character traits and could stand alone fairly well, but even in this second book there's a lot of development hinging on hints and background from book 1. I'd recommend starting there.

As with the first book, Book Girl and the Famished Spirit features self-styled "book girl" Tohko (a literature loving and eating goblin in schoolgirl form) and her force recruited book club junior Konoha. His job is to write Tohko snacks, and occasionally unravel strange events stemming from requests left in the club's personal mailbox.

Describing the series' concept and main characters is a bit of a problem because it makes the books sound different in tone and approach than what they are. Tohko's "unusual" appetite is largely just a character trait in a sense - the stories at this point do not center around it nor explain what she is. Her love of literature is much more relevant. Also the absurdity and strangeness of the premise might seem to indicate light, whimsical tales. Not so.

FAIR WARNING - while extremely well written, compelling, and laced with subtle touches of humor, the Book Girl series is incredibly dark and deals with very heavy themes.

Creepy doesn't even begin to describe the events Tohko and Konoha get caught up in this time, and it starts with a disturbing opening page description of an unknown character deciding to kill someone. A few pages of prologue follow recounting Konoha's disastrous brush with fame in the past and the specters that still haunt him. It's done in wonderfully direct fashion and before the fist chapter has even begun Nomura reintroduced the main character, discussed his personal demons in a way that ties to the themes of this particular story, and established a gripping, chilling atmosphere that will continue throughout the book.

Strange notes in the club mailbox and the possibility of a ghostly presence are only the beginning. As Tohko and Konoha approach an answer from different angles they'll each run afoul of distinct, unusual personalities and mysterious happenings. The supporting cast contains a good mix of familiar faces from the first book and newcomers, and is used remarkably well to build a multilayered mystery that gets scarier and more dangerous the more it unravels. The suspense elements are nicely done, with some pieces falling into place as the reader goes and some vital connections remaining elusive until they are explained. The clues are in place though, and the author "plays fair" with the storyline and the readers.

There is again a nice literary tie in to the themes and progression of the plot which is fully understandable even if you haven't read the associated works.

The writing flows well, is dripping with emotion and really establishes the proper feeling and atmosphere for the story. This is a great accomplishment both on the part of the author and the translator. The descriptions are quite detailed in parts but I never felt like the pace suffered. If fact I found the story moved along at quite a good clip while still fully conveying what was happening at any given time.

Despite being quite unsettled at times, I was very impressed with Book Girl and the Famished Spirit. But know what you're getting into before reading. This is a very odd series that meanders a little sometimes, hits hard and isn't afraid to deal with dark, depressing topics. What's done with it all is top notch so if you can handle the caveats I mentioned I highly recommend checking out this strange duo's adventures.

A soul in the dark
By Akiko Sakuraba
As usual, Konoha and Tohko-senpai go on crazy adventures to solve someone's love troubles. And as usual, they bite into more than they can chew. Tohko's mysterious, yet gentle and sweet personality really flesh out in this book. Also, it is revealed that even Tohko cannot reveal the future (as she did using literature in the first book). This is volume is a tale of twisted, tortured love. By the end, you will most likely cry. It is a writing style that makes you feel nostalgic as you see the titles of literature you may have read as a child (Pride and Prejudice, Little Lord Fauntleroy), and makes your cheeks drip with tears as you learn the shocking truth. This is yet another volume of Book Girl you must have on your shelf.

The Surprising Truth About Effective Managers

Why do most managers work so hard but accomplish so little? We have blamed everything from a lack of motivation, time, and money to the overwhelming amount of work and corporate bureaucracy that managers face. But a new study suggests a different cause: how much willpower managers bring to their jobs.

In A Bias for Action, Sumantra Ghoshal and Heike Bruch show that managers often confuse action with accomplishment, and motivation with leading. Their research has revealed that 90% of managers spin their wheels by procrastinating, detaching emotionally, and distracting themselves with busywork-while only 10% act purposefully to get truly important work done.

Based on exclusive research across several industries, and illustrated through stirring personal stories, A Bias for Action shows that great managers produce results not by motivating others, but by engaging their own willpower through a powerful combination of energy and focus. Bruch and Ghoshal provide simple strategies for bolstering your own willpower and action-taking abilities, and explore ways to marshal the willpower of others to encourage collective action.

Upending conventional thinking about the requirements for effective leadership, this book will help CEOs and frontline managers alike to stop simply doing things-and start getting things done.

Tucked safely away from the world on their peninsula, the 'Veld kingdoms—Estveld and Ostveld—have had little to do with the rest of the world, instead focusing their efforts on fighting each other. But the world hadn't forgotten about them, and the Cheil Empire turned its armies their way.

The three 'Velds allied together, but even their combined might was not enough to prevent defeat. The kings are forced to surrender, but the terms for Estveld and Ostveld appear suspiciously lenient; each kingdom will maintain its independence, so long as the royal bloodline continues unbroken. The only catch seems to be that the Cheil Emperor is allowed to choose each generation's bride.

Prince Cavan of Ostveld fears he won't be allowed to marry the princess to whom he was betrothed. Prince Gair of Estveld never intended to marry at all. But the surrender is already signed, and they are left with no choice but to travel to the capital of the Cheil Empire where they will learn who—or what—the Emperor has in store for them.

Once purchased I still had reservations about the book and it's vague synopsis. However, the opening chapter literally further piqued my interest and rest is history.

You never know with romantic fantasy
By Estarianne
With romantic fantasy you never know whether it will be fluff or substance.

This book opens up on a medieval battle ground. The people ostensibly leading the battle hear trumpets, which are apparently signaling that the battle is over. They all look around at each other and ask "who won?"

So if you're a fantasy fan, you know going in that this isn't going to be an immersive medieval world. The rest of the book continues in much the same vein.

The premise is that the main characters, both princes, are forced to wed after this battle is lost. They are from countries called "ostveld" and "estveld," a decision that confounded me as both of those prefixes mean "east." Ongoing feuding between the countries is a theme (maybe because they are competing for the most easterly country?) , with the general tone of a preschool classroom.

I really though the main characters acted like spoiled children through much of it, but it wasn't unreadable. Just fairly fluffy romantic fantasy.

Operation Typhoon: Hitler's March on Moscow, October 1941, by David Stahel

In October 1941 Hitler launched Operation Typhoon the German drive to capture Moscow and knock the Soviet Union out of the war. As the last chance to escape the dire implications of a winter campaign, Hitler directed seventy-five German divisions, almost two million men and three of Germany's four panzer groups into the offensive, resulting in huge victories at Viaz'ma and Briansk - among the biggest battles of the Second World War. David Stahel's groundbreaking new account of Operation Typhoon captures the perspectives of both the German high command and individual soldiers, revealing that despite success on the battlefield the wider German war effort was in far greater trouble than is often acknowledged. Germany's hopes of final victory depended on the success of the October offensive but the autumn conditions and the stubborn resistance of the Red Army ensured that the capture of Moscow was anything but certain.

Review
"With a firm grasp of strategic, operational, economic, and logistical factors, Stahel has again laid bare German weaknesses and shattered the myth of the all-powerful Wehrmacht. The best sort of revisionism, Operation Typhoon dissects the material factors leading to ultimate German failure before Moscow, all the while integrating the personal aspect of the battle through deft use of the diaries and letters of German soldiers. An impressive achievement."
Stephen G. Fritz, author of Ostkrieg: Hitler's War of Extermination in the East

"David Stahel has written a detailed, carefully documented, and engaging analysis of the last great German offensive of 1941. All the elements of the German defeat are here, from macroeconomics, ideology, and criminality to logistics, intelligence, tactics, and weapons design. This is a fine complement to Stahel's works on Barbarossa and Kiev."
Geoffrey P. Megargee, author of War of Annihilation: Combat and Genocide on the Eastern Front, 1941

"Stahel's third book on Germany's 1941 Russian campaign demonstrates that focus on the operational level led to ignoring strategic considerations. Emphasis on force of will encouraged overlooking material problems. Defeat in front of Moscow was a consequence not of Hitler's interference, not even of Soviet resistance, but of the vaunted German army's internal weaknesses."
Dennis Showalter, author of Hitler's Panzers: The Lightning Attacks that Revolutionized Warfare

"David Stahel's new book on Operation Typhoon is his best yet. Wedding detailed archival research, an intimate knowledge of the secondary sources, and a gripping narrative, Stahel has set a new standard for scholarship on the Eastern Front. No student of the massive conflict between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union should be without this book. A major addition to the literature."
Robert M. Citino, author of Death of the Wehrmacht: The German Campaigns of 1942

"Great detail ... Stahel succeeds in provoking some interesting new perspectives and ideas."
Daniel Pilfold, The Second World War Military Operations Research Group

"Stahel, as he has done with his previous two books, has fundamentally and correctly re-interpreted the latter stages of the Barbarossa campaign. It is a must-read for general and military historians."
David Glantz, Journal of Military History

"... combines strategic and economic context, statistics, operational analysis, and tactical-level accounts from individual soldiers in constructing a layered but highly readable narrative. It is a remarkable feat."
Richard R. Muller, World War II

"... a treasure trove of information regarding the late fall battles between the Germans and Soviets in 1941."
Adam Koeth, Armchair General

"Stahel incorporates in quantity the voices of German soldiers and outside observers."
Evan Mawdsley, War in History

"An in-depth new account."
Military History Magazine

An excellent command level overview
By Dave Schranck
The author extends his strategic coverage of his two previous books by covering Operation Typhoon with the same logic, flair and extensive research of those books.
To my surprise this book covers only the fighting and command decisions of October which primarily included the pocket battles of Vyazma and Bryansk while the next book will be devoted to the final advance on Moscow, ending on December 5th.(I'm hoping Mr Stahel will then write about the German defense of Zhukov's counter offensive.)

As a prelude to the main story, a recap of Operation Barbarossa and Guderian's run to Kiev is presented to bring the reader up to speed. A brief historical military summary of Germany going back to the 12th century is also given that includes the influence of Clausewitz Theory has on German commanders. Napoleon's attempts to conquer Russia also plays heavy on Hitler and other key officers. As usual the German perspective concerning operational, strategic and political aspects drive the narrative.

Also as usual, the author has performed a tremendous amount of research for he covers Operation Typhoon on a daily basis and include many battle facts on individual corps and divisions along with their respective commanders as they struggle to close and eliminate the pockets at Vyazma and Bryansk while 3rd PzA heads for Kalinin. In addition to showing the fanatical resistance of the Soviets in trying to escape their doom, Mr Stahel also clearly shows how disgruntled German commanders fought among themselves, a delusional OKH that wouldn't see the severity of fighting for what it was, rainy weather, impossible muddy roads, terrible logistics and lack of fuel would bring the German Army to an abrupt halt by the end of October. The AGC had not fully recovered from the fighting in August and September and with the casualties of October was in no position to tackle Moscow in 1941, especially in the disposition OKH had ordered. Forging a salient from Kalinin to Tula all the way to Moscow was just too unreasonable.

Once again it is shown that regardless of "winning battles", the German Army with its own problems and its inability to see the true cost of those victories were over extending themselves, suffering too many casualties and making too many strategic errors that would prevent the capture of Moscow in 1941 or ever. On the other side of the ledger, its shown how thousands of Russians escaped the pockets to fight another day as well as the stubborn resistance within the pockets that caused the Germans until almost the end of October to eliminate the pockets and devote their full attention on moving on Moscow. This resistance gave Zhukov time to improve defenses and bring reserves up to the line in sufficient levels to stop the Germans in early December. Though the coverage is predominately German, there is still sufficient coverage of Soviet responses, especially when Zhukov is in sector for the reader to have a good understanding of the overall campaign. It is clearly shown that in many local battles at the pockets and at Kalinin that the Soviets actually halted the German advance while causing massive casualties.

I believe the book is further enhanced in describing the operation and the positional stance of the author that the Germans were bleeding themselves white while advancing toward Moscow by the careful selection of excerpts from primary documents and the hundreds of first hand accounts chosen to back up his positions.

In addition to the excellent overview, the author presents 15 detailed maps drawn by David Glantz that show divisional deployments and progress. The series of maps clearly show the quick envelopment of Vyazma and Bryansk in the first week of the operation and then the subsequent slowing of the advance due to a myriad of reasons. The maps will definitely aid the reader in following the narrative and Mr Stahel includes map references on some of the key battles, letting the reader move quickly to the proper map. The book also includes a few tables and photos, a 67 page Notes Section and an impressive Bibliography of primary and secondary sources. The book closes with an Index. This material is invaluable if further study is desired.

Operation Typhoon dovetails logically with the author's two earlier books in both battlefield strategy as well as the economic and political arenas and if you enjoyed those books, you'll definitely enjoy this book. And if you haven't read those earlier books, the first chapter summarizes and will give you sufficient background knowledge so you won't miss a beat reading this book.

I find Mr Stahel's writing style interesting and effective; I find the story development and premise logical and hard to dispute. This book along with the author's earlier books provide key insight into the war and I highly recommend this book to all students of the Russo-German War.

Excellent book, his best yet!
By Koba
The title of this book is somewhat misleading. It is really about the Battle of Bryansk-Vyazma in October 1941, a gigantic double encirclement battle which was the second biggest German victory of the war, after the Battle of Kiev in September. The book's title should really have called attention to that fact, because there are very, very few books in English on Bryansk-Vyazma. The book thus fills an important gap in the literature.

I criticized his previous book, on Kiev, for not being tightly focused on its subject, and for having poor maps. I am happy to say this book does NOT have those problems. He sets the stage in his first tightly written chapter by describing what happened in the USSR from June to October, and the majority of the book focuses on October. The maps, once again from David Glantz, cover the battle of Bryansk-Vyazma in close detail (eleven maps for a four week period!) and are of high quality.

Some other reviewers write that Stahel is continuing the same themes from his previous books. This is true to some extent, but there is actually no reason to expect the same Army, under the same leadership, to be radically different in October than it was in August and September. Even given that his view of the fundamental problems of the German Army is much the same in this book as the previous ones, there is certainly enough new material in here on the actual operations in October to justify a new book.

Stahel concludes that the Germans won a tactical and operational victory but could not translate this into strategic success. The German Army won a battle, but could not win the war. He also notes that the Soviets were preparing a defense-in-depth of Moscow itself, meaning that if the Germans had reached the city in October or November, they would not have taken it easily, but would have been bogged down in protracted, draining urban combat.

He notes the German propaganda campaign in October, which announced that "Russia is beaten, and the Red Army is annihilated", only set up the German population for a huge disappointment when the Wehrmacht did not take Moscow after all, and the war continued. Finally, although the main perspective of the book is that of the strategic and operational commanders, he includes perspectives from the front line soldiers (which mainly serves to indicate that the higher headquarters were living in a fantasy world).

In conclusion, this is Stahel's best one yet, and a worthy addition to any collection of books on the Eastern Front.

Excellent research and well written
By J. Groen
This book continues from the author's previous books, Barbarossa and Kiev, with the story of the war in the east between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1941. The initial 40+ pages are spent as a review of these events, but I still recommend that you read these two previous books to get the primary value before reading this one.

Just like the other two books this book has excellent research and is well written. The book covers all aspects of the German's campaign to take Moscow in October, 1941 from strategic to the experiences of the individual soldiers. In fact, the examples of the experiences of the individual soldiers are the best part of the this book - from combat, to environment (the mud, the cold and the leeches) to recovery from wounds and sickness. This was the most violent and brutal combat experienced purportedly and this book provides some insight on that.

As covered in the previous two books, the author highlights that by this time the Germans really had no chance to win the war in the East. Even if they took Moscow, the Russians had moved manufacturing and the government offices hundreds of kilometers east. There was no way that the Soviet Union was going to surrender and the Nazis were naive to think so.

The author goes into a lot of detail and facts on why the Germans were not successful in this campaign and "General Mud" as commonly mentioned was not the primary reason. The logistics in support of the German front line soldiers, for example, was atrocious. There are many examples provided in the book of units running out of fuel and the attempts to bring supplies to them.

This book compares well with the book, The Drive on Moscow, 1941 and, if you are interested in this, I recommend that you read both to get a good picture of the events on the Eastern Front in 1941.

Good Book but very small type
By Nadmash
It is a good reference book - specially for people who are new to web design like myself.
However, I have one complaint that the type / font size used is very small which makes it a headache to read.

Provides a good overview of many web-related subjects
By Arthur S
Each of the 101 articles in this book provides a good, one or two page overview of a particular aspect of 11 different areas of website development and design (content, navigation, layout, accessibility, etc.). Since the articles are short they aren't going to tell you everything you need to know, but they do give you enough information to point you in the right direction for additional research and reading. This book is also a good source of inspiration and ideas for whatever web project you may be working on.

Great book
By Kevin
I have not yet put most of it to work yet but I had checked the book out from the library and it was so informative I had to buy it. It is well illustrated which is always helpful, quite detailed, and has information on useful websites to use as well.
